Watch · Listen · Play · Read #4

Hey all and Happy October!
I haven't done one of these since the beginning of the year, but this is my favorite time of year and I wanted to keep it autumnal/Halloween themed!

Haunting of Hill House
This one's a Netflix exclusive and the best way I have to explain this show is like This Is Us, but spooky. It starts with Mom, Dad, and their five young kids living in a house that mom and dad are flipped. The show then switches to the present where all five children are grown and dealing with the repercussions of living in Hill House and their relationships with each other since. Each episode is an hour long, but each of them is beautiful and intimate and there are hidden ghosts in each episode!

Decade of Discovery
I wish I had something to keep the theme here, but this playlist is consistently playing in the background of everything I do. It buzzed through the last ten years and showcases the best songs. It brings hidden gems back to light and you'll bop to songs you forgot existed, as well as experience new tunes from genres you're not familiar with.

Betrayal at House on the Hill
Speaking of houses on hills that are haunted...
My cousin got this game for Christmas one year and it takes one solid play through of the game to grasp everything. You all choose a player that has starter levels of Intelligence, Strength, etc. and these can raise or lower throughout the game. Everybody starts by building different rooms in the house and collecting items until one player becomes the traitor and then it is everybody in the group versus the traitor to see who wins. There are monsters, there's magic, it's the perfect game to play any time of year, but especially this Hallo-weekend.

The Merciless
I have had trouble finding the time to read lately, but I buzzed through this book and I couldn't put it down. Follow Sofia Flores as she begins a new school where she meets Riley, Grace, and Alexis who are pleasant girls of God on the surface, but as the novel goes on you see they're not as pure as they let on. There are four books in the series and although they are quick reads, they kept me on the edge of my seat.
