Editing & Proofreading

There has been a lot happening, but I think that is a different topic for a whole different post.

Right now, I am focusing on my growth by the end of the year. I am trying to find a full-time job that isn't retail. I am focusing on my creative projects and spending more time crafting. Also, I am taking time to focus on more writing and building my writing portfolio and this post is all about the steps I am taking that I could use your help with.

I am starting freelance proofreading & editing in my time outside of work and school. With the school year starting, I want to be able to help some people while building my resume and editing portfolio. Here are 'five things' that make me believe I am credible to get chosen/paid to do your editing and proofreading:

· I have a Bachelor's degree in English with a concentration in Creative Writing, therefore I have spent most of my education writing, editing, and proofreading.

· I am thorough with all of my work and I will not rush through things, but I will also get them back to you in a reasonable amount of time with a significant amount of aide where I see it needed.

· I will not make a change without explaining why I've done it so you'll receive some food for thought for future projects.

· I have knowledge and reference books about both MLA and APA format and I have experience with a variety of genres including fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry, and magazine writing.

· If I have a supplemental piece or article or sheet of tips for you all, I will send them back with your piece. You're getting a whole lot of extra for not a lot of money.

Why the pricing?
I tried to line up the pricing with the amount of pages. I think you're getting quality work with supplemental material, as well as my time outside of a full-time job. If this is too high for you, message me and we can work something out!

Let's talk about @layne.makes

I spend a lot of time making different things with my hands, including crocheting, bullet journaling, and kind of a jumble of other things I like to experiment with. layne.makes has become an outlet for me to share photos and progress of project while giving and receiving inspiration for DIY projects. It's going to become the bottom bar of my blog where my personal Instagram is now when I have more content on there. But, I want to start doing things with my crafting and creative brand. I've linked the page where I typed the handle and although there isn't a lot of content and it's not high in interaction right now, it's something I want to spend a lot of time for the duration of 2018.
