Cruelty-Free Hair Routine

One of my goals for 2018 was to create more content that is less personal, and more informative. I think this is one of the reasons that I've been so sparse on here, which is okay because I've been producing more content that I'm happy with. When I took to Twitter, the one thing most people wanted to see was cruelty-free hair & skincare. I've been through a lot with my hair since I started coloring it around 7th grade. My hair has been through a spectrum of color and damage. Through the journey to repair, and maintaining a healthy head of hair, these are my favorite products that I've used.

This is everything that I use standing on the back of my toilet because I am a professional.
I'm going to take you through my daily routine, and touch on each product in the meantime.

Each time I shower, I use my shampoo & conditioner, which are the two bottles shaped like the Loreal Kids bottles on the left and right. This is the OGX brand Argan Oil of Morocco shampoo and conditioner. I purchase mine from Bed, Bath, and Beyond because they come in a two-pack for $10.00, where if you purchase them from a drugstore you're looking at almost $10.00 a bottle. They also come individually so you can mix & match depending on your hair type. I would easily pay drugstore prices for these, but saving money is also what I am here for. It protects my hair from heat styling, and it has made my hair stronger. One time, Jonathan from Queer Eye juxtaposed washing your hair to washing clothes explaining when you wash a shirt too often, it loses it's color and gets washed out, and overfishing your hair has the same effect. I only wash my hair maybe two or three times a week, and dry shampoo has become my best friend.

side tip: Read this article where Jonathan from Queer Eye talks about the six largest mistakes people make with their hair.

My favorite one is Not Your Mother's Refereshing Dry ShampooI've never tried one of the other types from this brand, but between the other brands I have tried, this is by far my favorite. It always makes my hair feel fresh and hand-in-hand with my shampoo and conditioner, my hair never looks greasy. I also find my hair easier to style when it's got dry shampoo in it, and also these two products.
