Mount Olivet Cemetery

Cemeteries are one of my favorite places to visit, and I'm not sure where the immense intrigue comes from behind them. I have always been drawn to paranormal, supernatural, typical horror things, and cemeteries are not excluded from that demographic. It's overwhelming how many people are in each cemetery, and the dates are mind-blowing because I've seen people dated back to the early 1800s, and it's hard to imagine being alive then. It also comes from the interest I take in people. I love hearing people's stories, and learning things about people, and hearing about their lives. A lot of people come to me to with their problems, and talk to me about their lifestyles, and I love listening to people because I believe everybody has a story to tell, and you never know when somebody just needs an ear. Everybody in cemeteries has stories that I will never know, stories left up to the imagination, and that's thrilling to me.

There are also a variety of bizarre, and beautiful structures in cemeteries. Some gravestones are similar, but there are some intricate details in crosses, benches, mausoleums, and Christ's face (which is a personal favorite.) This is another reason for the draw to cemeteries because you can see the wear and tear on them, aging them more, and the interpretations different stonemasons have when it comes to religious characters is also interesting to observe.

There are a plethora of cemeteries around my house that I have yet to see, but with the weather getting nicer, and my ambition to walk everywhere because of my Fitbit I will be seeing them all throughout this summer, and I could not be more excited about it.
